Default Moth with glowing eyes?

Anyone ever seen a moth around that has eyes that glow like a lightning bug (without the blinking)? I was just spraying the trees for bugs and one flew out. I was about to spray it in mid air when I noticed the glowing eyes. Never seen anything like it before around here. It was big too. Bigger then a humming bird.

If it was he was only about 6 inches long. Still when I did searches that came up quite a bit. Never did figure out what it was and haven't seen anything like it since.

A few years ago we had what I assume was some type of moth in our tree. The thing was pale green, appeared to have a leathery texture, had red glowing eyes, and was about the size of a full grown bat. It moved on after a few days.
